Xtreme Aging Training

A Macklin Training
What?
The Xtreme Aging TrainingTM is designed to diminish ageism – discrimination against the aging population in our society. Everyone who interacts with the aging on a personal or professional basis should experience what it’s like to be an aging person in our society. Participants are taken through a social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual journey as we identify and debunk stereotypes and myths; experience a physical aging simulation; come to understand what it’s really like for this segment of the population to function after a stroke; experience daily life with diminished senses; and appreciate what it is like to have suffered life’s losses along the way.
So What?
There’s an ‘Aging Tsunami’ rapidly approaching as today’s 35 million American baby boomers age and is projected to double in the next 20 years. This aging population is the healthiest, wealthiest, and largest population in American history. A satisfied customer who is 65 today can expect to enjoy, on average, 17 more years of life, and will remain a customer until 2026 if they are treated well and served well. The way we perceive, respond to, and interact with the aging population has a vast impact on customer satisfaction and the bottom line.
Now What?
During this workshop, trainees learn to relate more effectively to the aging population, ultimately improving customer relations and retaining business. Age-related sensitivity, awareness, and acceptance are gained as each trainee experiences instantaneous aging. Before leaving, participants apply the skills and strategies they’ve learned as they plan how to make individual, organizational, and global changes to meet the aging population's needs and expectations.
